Life Through Christ

Our Junior School introduces students to a continuous and developing set of skills, knowledge and relationships that build right through until Year 12.

The curriculum is underpinned by our Christian worldview and is seamlessly integrated to support students in shaping their beliefs and Christian practice throughout their years at Broughton.

Teachers and Specialist Teachers provide quality learning opportunities as they engage children in the Key Learning Areas mandated by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). Students also have additional extension and optional cocurricular activities to develop and extend their interests and skills in many other areas.

Christian Focus

We believe that Jesus loves all children and wants them to be part of His family. Therefore, throughout their years in the Junior School, we aim to teach the students’ God’s story of salvation from creation to the new creation. We hope that they come to an understanding of who God is and our need to be rescued from sin so that we can be in a right relationship with Him.

By providing a firm foundation of Biblical understanding, we aim to equip students with a core knowledge to continue a more in-depth study of the Bible in their senior years at the College, but more importantly for a life through Christ.

The curriculum is underpinned by, and integrated with, our distinctly Christian worldview and this seamlessly supports students as they develop their own beliefs and Christian practice throughout their years at Broughton.

P-2 Library

Broughton has a dedicated library space for P-2 students. Many physical and digital resources are available and students are guided to use iPads to source information at their own level through links on the catalogue site.

The library is staffed by a qualified Teacher Librarian who supports the curriculum by selecting relevant resources and providing collaborative teaching in information literacy skills across the curriculum. Instilling a love or reading and literature is a priority, and a large collection of physical books are made available for this age group.

OSHC (Out of School Hours Care)

The Centre’s program caters for Pre Kinder through to Year 6 and is open for attendance before and after school hours.

Vacation care is also available in all school holiday periods apart from selected dates during the Christmas/New Year break. The OSHC Manager is dedicated and passionate about the Early Childhood Education Sector and has a Bachelor of Teaching in Early Education.

Be a beacon to South-West Sydney that proclaims the gospel of forgiveness, hope and life through Christ, providing quality, visionary educational opportunities, encouraging a journey of lifelong learning.
