Why choose this Christian School?

As a distinctly Christian school, we believe that every single person has been individually crafted by God with unique and wonderful personalities and talents, we are ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’ (Psalm 139). The God who made us values us so much that He would do anything to keep us in a right relationship with Him. And so, the heart of the Christian message is that despite us not honouring Him, God became one of us in the person of Jesus to bring us back into that good and right relationship. We proclaim, ‘Life Through Christ’, because trust in Jesus Christ means we have life and live in abundance (John 10:10).

If the Christian message is true, if God is, the creator of all things including us, Christians ought to desire a right understanding of the universe we live in. We value every single student who enters our classrooms, motivating them to achieve their potential with a clear understanding of who they are in God’s world, and giving thanks to God for the privilege of partnering in their educational journey. We pursue excellence in education, seek knowledge wherever it is found, and strive for truth, because in doing so, we understand God’s creation better, and bring Him the glory that is His due.

Broughton Best

At Broughton we value when students have integrity in their actions, treat others with respect, are diligent in their learning and have compassion for others. These four values are our Broughton Best.

  • Integrity – doing the right thing.
  • Compassion – being kind and helping others.
  • Respect – treating others how I would like to be treated.
  • Diligence – working hard.

At Broughton, the pastoral care of each of our students is a priority.

We understand that before a child can flourish academically, they need to feel safe, secure and cared for. Each teacher works to assist and support students as they develop and grow throughout their high school journey. Integral to our Pastoral Care program, House Tutors play a crucial role in providing personalised support to your child throughout their secondary education. Weekly chapel sessions, conducted during House Tutor time, instil in our students the significance of worship within our College community.

Students also participate in a fortnightly rotation of academic skills and pastoral care programs that are designed to underpin each child’s academic and socio-emotional development. In Years 7 and 8, students attend a camping experience and engage in a variety of hands-on, high-energy and exciting activities which help them to get to know each other and to know their own strengths. The purpose of the camp is to provide an opportunity for the students to develop friendships and a sense of belonging to both their school and their House group as well as equip them with the organisational skills essential for their life in high school.

At Broughton, our students’ holistic development is our greatest priority and privilege as we work with parents and carers to support and nurture your child.
